How often should I get my unit serviced?
Generally, you should service your unit twice a year, once in the fall and the other in the spring. This will ensure that the parts are functioning, everything is clean and in good condition before use.
Is refrigerant required to make my unit cool?
Yes, refrigerant is required to produce cool air. Sometimes a unit will leak freon due to a malfunction. To avoid further damage and costly repairs we recommend that your freon be filled to manufacturer's standards.
How often should I change my air Filters?
Your air filters should be replaced every one to three months depending on usage. This is highly important to the performance of you HVAC system.
What is included in a summer service?
Cleans, dust, and removes debris from electrical component department
Washes outdoor condenser coil
Inspects indoor evaporator coil
Checks all electrical components and connections for proper voltage and secured properly
Inspect all motor and outdoor motors for bearing play and amp readings
Check freon level and delta t to ensure system is cooling properly and efficiently
Thermostat setting assessment
Safety controls
Check drip pan and condensation drain lines
Inspect air flow
Check for any damage to the A/C unit
Check filters: Filters are an additional $10/ea.
What is included in a Winter Service
Check thermostat
Testing of temperature split
Check system pressures
Perform amp draw on all motors
Rinse condenser coils with water (for heat pumps only)
Check evaporator coil (for heat pumps only)
Clean electrical connections
Test capacitors & operations
Test safety & limit switches
Clean burners
Check heat exchanger
Inspect pilot system.
Check contactor
